Rack-mount instrumentation chassis

HGL has designed a sturdy steel frame chassis for use with a computer-based data acquisition and analysis instrument.

The design was a ground-up replacement for a previous chassis designed for aluminium. The requirements called for the external appearance of the chassis to remain broadly similar to the previous appearance, whilst adopting all of the new requirements for the internal layout.

The main benefits to the customer for switching to the new design were improved robustness and ease of access for assembly and maintenance. Another key advantage was for the front panel connectors to be compatible with those in another instrumentation design, allowing the same components to be used in two different systems.
